Games are art. It’s as simple as that. When playing games some of the imagery is simply stunning and sometimes, thought provoking. Quite often I’ve taken screenshots while playing a game, so taken was I with their, design or beauty. Here are a collection of pieces from 2017.

Yes that’s right.
Doraleous and Associates is back. If you’ve never seen any of these,
then catch up. For anyone who likes fantasy of any kind (and even if you don’t),
this is major league funny stuff. It’s great to see that after some funding
from kickstarter. That the makers of D&A have lost none of their magic, and
are just as hilarious as ever. Check it out at

What is a Gamer?

Cool stuff Posted on Tue, January 07, 2014 11:22:25

What does it mean to be a Gamer?

Is it the amount of time you spend playing games? Granted I don’t have as much time now as I used to. But I have the aching joints for all my efforts at the arcades and the years on the consoles and computers of yesteryear.

Is it the accomplishments the hard earned trophies?

Nah! Anyone can bash away for hours like a good little monkey.

So many Gamers talk about ‘Call of Duty’ and ‘GTA’ or reminisce about ‘Mario’ or ‘Zelda’. Yet I believe a true gamer is not one who buys only what is popular but finds his/her own path.

It breaks my heart when I see gaming going the same way as other popular cultures where we’re all supposed to love the same songs or shows. GTA 4 was supposed to be a great game, I bought it and was massively disappointed, as I was with ‘Modern Warfare 3’.

Is it because they are bad games? Yes and no. And that’s the point. They just weren’t for me, but I felt I should like them. It seems that were all supposed to like the same games, but it’s personal preference, and that’s the beauty. No-one can tell you what’s good or bad, just like no one can tell you whether you like anchovies or not. It’s your choice. Find you’re own way. Just because everyone else says it’s great doesn’t mean it is for you. Think for yourself. At the moment I’m playing Trine 2, and it’s a great game. I’m an artist, and visual appeal is half the battle when winning me over, gameplay, character and story are also very important.

I’ve played many games in the past that most ‘Gamers’ haven’t played or never heard of, but they are/were amazing and some of the best gaming experiences of my life. I’d love to hear about games you’ve played, which were never massive, but were special to you.

Here are some of mine that spring to mind:
Trine 2
Valkyria Chronicles
Fat Princess
Escape velocity
Bubble trouble
